Summary of Archaeological Salvage of Burials, Washington Avenue, Philadelphia

This 2005 report by Temple Anthropologist R. Michael Stewart documents the excavation of 16 burials discovered along the 700 block of Washington Avenue. The burials, all but two in coffins, were discovered during construction of a water main trench. The report details the procedures employed in the research and the research findings. Dental and skeletal reports be Dr. Thomas Crist and Dr. Art Washburn are included in the Appendixes.
